Why Euroasia?
The Euroasia Language Academy – The 10-Point Difference
Of course, there are other providers of foreign language courses.
We do not try to be the cheapest, but we do try to be the best. Our mission is:
To provide the best foreign language and culture programmes in New Zealand.
Feel free to look at our detailed comparison between Euroasia Language Academy and the myriad of language learning options in New Zealand. While not everything we do is unique, we believe that we offer a unique combination of quality points. We’ve summarised these here:
1. Enthusiastic, native-speaker teachers, providing fascinating cultural input
2. Small, lively classes, with a friendly, personal approach
3. Courses geared to the practical needs of New Zealanders
4. Specially-designed course materials included
5. Assessment of levels/needs; advice on study options
One lesson a week is not much. If you are taking a course out of general interest, that is probably fine, but if you want to learn a language faster, then it’s important that you use your time effectively. We help you to do this both before you enrol and once your course has begun.
If you have previously completed a course of study in a foreign language, it may be worthwhile talking to our staff about your level, or if you have special requirements. Make sure you are taking the right course, at the right level - and for the right reasons!
Then, once you’ve started your course, your teacher will be happy to recommend material that you can use in your own time to help you make faster progress. This may involve books, CDs or materials available on-line.
6. Welcoming, centrally-located teaching centres
Our centres are all conveniently and centrally located, with easy access to shopping/dining areas. We conduct our classes in proper classrooms, in a school environment; so that you can focus on your learning without being distracted by any dancing or partying next door. (Please see locations for more information)
7. Included seminars: “Looking at language”
The more you understand how language works, the more progress you will make with your language course. We have a series of 10 seminars, delivered regularly during our school terms. We cover areas such as: what is grammar?/introduction to linguistics/the sounds of language/languages of the world. Come along: they’re free for all our students, and people interested in joining us to learn a language are welcome to attend one of the seminars to get a feel of what we are about. For more information, see free seminars.
8. Quality assurance across the board
Our management team at Euroasia believe it's really important for us to maintain high standards in all our operations. To achieve this, we: monitor administrative procedures; carry out periodic observation of lessons; conduct professional development workshops for teachers; ask you, our clients, to give us your feedback.
9. User-friendly online enrolment and payment
We believe in keeping things simple! We have a straightforward system for enrolment and payment of fees. However, if you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact us, and we will be pleased to deal directly with your query. See timetable/fees/enrolment.
10. Social and cultural programme
We know that many of our clients come not just to learn a language, but also to make friends and new contacts with people who are generally from a similar background. And so we offer a social programme of film and restaurant nights linked to the language and the culture you’re studying – plus a few trips and parties just for the fun of it!?Please see news and events for the latest news on the social front!
